Coastal presents a journey taken along Canada’s coastline to experience its beauty and its harshness and offer a glimpse of what life is like on the edge, where the land meets the sea. A nostalgic look at coastal communities, the photographs present people and landscapes exposed to time and the elements, whose stories seem to be suspended, their movement arrested.

Hailing from the Scottish Highlands and having now lived in Canada for more than ten years, Johan Hallberg-Campbell travels to explore communities and what it means to belong.
