About the Artist

About the Exhibition

Available in French only.

In the middle of the space, an image of a deserted site is projected onto a large screen. Open books are scattered across the floor; the sun wanly illuminates the wall. Is it a photograph or a video? The light gradually strengthens, the windows slowly appear, become sharper, then catch fire. We have the feeling we can almost see out of them. Little by little, our perception becomes blurred; caught in this world of transparencies and decelerating time, we endlessly position ourselves before the image, which becomes a veritable mirror image of ourselves.

By probing the boundaries between photography and video, Léna Mill-Reuillard is exploring the temporality of these two media, forcing them to complement each other, to intersect. And by working in the border zone between fixed images and moving images, she is questioning the limits of the photographic image.

The artist wishes to thank the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.

The exhibition is presented in collaboration with the Mois Multi.
