About the Artist

About the Exhibition

Jacynthe Carrier

Jacynthe Carrier lives and works in Quebec City. She obtained a bachelor of fine arts degree in visual and media art from UQAM in 2007 and works primarily in photography and video. Jacynthe Carrier is interested in the narrative and formal relationships the body enters into with its environment. For the past few years, she has been investigating in particular our way of occupying and altering contemporary space. Her work has been shown at Art Mûr, Galerie Lilian Rodriguez and the Galerie de l'UQAM in Montreal. She recently participated in Manif d'art 4 (Quebec City, 2008), and a solo exhibition of her work is being prepared by Caravansérail in Rimouski for the near future.

Jacynthe Carrier thanks the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec for their support, along with those appearing in and working on the project.

Jacynthe Carrier benefited from an artist's residency at Centre VU for the creation of Scènes de genres.
