About the Artist

About the Exhibition

The trio BGL was formed in 1996 and is known for its destabilising installations which reveal the disorder of our society. Their work, both incisive and refreshing, has been seen around in the world in major events such as the 9th Havana Biennial in 2006, the Biennale de Montréal in 2007, the first edition of the End of the World Biennial in Ushuaia, Argentina in 2007 and Québec Gold in Reims, France in 2008. Some of BGL's most recent solo exhibitions include Le discours des éléments at L'OEil de Poisson in Quebec City - a spectacular installation acquired by the National Gallery of Canada - Commercial Pleasure at Diaz Contemporary gallery in Toronto and Artistique Feelings at the Canadian Cultural Centre in Paris. In 2007 BGL received the Canada Council for the Arts Victor Martyn Lynch-Staunton award.

BGL is made up of Jasmin Bilodeau, Sébastien Giguère and Nicolas Laverdière and lives and works in Quebec City.

BGL benefited from an artist's residency at Centre VU for the creation of Sensuel et non tangible.
