Presented in collaboration with the Mois Multi.

Night, in the desert. Beams of light and smoke rise into the sky. Are we witnessing a war, a natural cataclysm, an astral phenomenon, a lift-off to explore unknown lands, or the end of the world? The landscape is enchanting, but ominous. Midway between reality and science-fiction, Orion Tide transports us to an apocalyptic site of disquieting, ineffable beauty. Through digital manipulations of documentary photographs, Kelly Richardson creates a unique video installation that turns on the ambiguity of the images. She questions our perceptions and the believability of what is displayed to us, contrasts the possible with the impossible, probing the fabulous powers of the imagination.
