If the studio can be described generally as a place to create, it nonetheless implies for each artist a characteristic, perhaps even unique range of actions. The studio is a place to think, research, experiment, and play until, gradually, the work takes shape. For Pénélope and Chloë, who have worked as a duo for several years, the studio is also a pretext for meeting on a daily basis, and as such their small, everyday rituals have become as important as the work of creation. Once friendship and art-making are combined, snack time and work time are both essential parts of the day.

In this shared space, photography bears witness to their interactions with objects and materials, and depicts the colourful landscape of their collaboration. In Nez de colle, their unique chromatic environment extends into the gallery, inviting us, in some sense, to enter the image, where we may interact with salt play dough sculptures that evoke the vocabulary of childhood and play. References to the body—nose, eyes, ears, legs—transform the exhibition into an almost living entity with which to interact, before gathering around a big bowl of chips.

This exhibition is part of our Points d’appui programming, which invites artists to create forms of resistance, to play in the face of shifting and uncertain times, and to offer alternative perspectives that can deepen our view of the world.

* Please note that the exhibition will be closed for the holidays. It will therefore be closed to the public from December 15, 2025, to January 8, 2026, inclusively.
