Our production spaces are open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm and on Wednesday and Thursday night untill 8pm.
Our office is open Tuesday to Thursday, 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm.

The gallery is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 12 to 5 pm during exhibitions.

VU is an artist-run centre whose mission is to promote and support research and creation in the field of photography by working with artists and contributing to the dissemination of and reflection on their work.

Open call for coproduction projects

Deadline : 15 February 2026
The co-production program aims to make the production centre's specialized equipment available to support artists in advancing their projects. Projects requiring the use of photo equipment, scanners, post-production software, or access to a workspace may be eligible for co-production funding. Accepted projects will receive a 95% discount on equipment rental rates and a 25% discount on printing.

Open call for book proposals

Deadline : 30 November 2025
Our annual call for book proposals supports publishing projects within the fine arts photo community. Proposals are solicited for the publishing program, the book mockup workshop Assemblages and residencies. This call is open to artists from across Québec who are interested in the book form as a creative form. Proposed projects should have photography as their primary focus, and be previously unpublished. We are also inviting artists to submit their recently published books for acquisition by the VU book collection.
